Hapkido



Hapkido - (Hap- uniting, Ki-energy, Do - way or path) (The art of coordinated power) is a type of Korean martial art which is similar to Japanese martial art Aikido because techniques which is a basis of Aikido, Daito - Ryu Aiki-dzutsu. Later it took elements of Tae kwon do, Tansudo. There is tough hapkido (there is no analog though it is similar to Aiki Dzutsu) and soft hapkido (it is very close to Japanese Aikido). The main technique Hapkido is principles of ''ATTACHMENTS" and "MOVEMENT". In attack's technique weapons (knife, sword, fan, stick and others) are used. Hapkido is a martial art of self-defense and there are some types and styles of this martial art. Energy of an opponents is not broken but it directs in a proper way. The hapkido bases is a complex of breathing Ton Jon Ho Hop. Korean Masters say about its essence and confirm ,"Throw all techniques and motions out Hapkido, leave only Ton Jon Ho Hop and it turns into hapkido too." In Hapkido there are 9 kups - a degree of a pupil and 10 Dans - a degree of teachers.


The largest Hapkido federation is Korean Hapkido Federation (KHF), THE SECOND LARGEST ORGANIZATION IS International Hapkido Federation then there is another Korean successor Global Hapkido Federation which covers the whole world.


Korean Master Chhve En Sol is considered as a founder of Hapkido. He was one of the most successful students of Japanese Master Aiki Dzutsu Daito Ryu Takeda Sokkaky. After Chhve returning to his motherland in Korea, he was taught only this style translated all names into the Korean language. Formation of hapkido in sort we have now, pupils of Chhve carried out. They added those techniques into this style which there were no before Aiki Dzutsu Daito ryu: numerous kicks, techniques with specific for Korean martial art weapons and others. The name itself was offered by one of the students of master Chhve - Dzi Han Dze who was called "father of modern hapkido" due to his contribution into promotion and formation of Hapkido.

In Professional Sport club "USPEKH" Hapkido has developed since October 1999 under supervision of master Li Ken Ho (4 Dan) who heads Novosibirsk Hapkido regional federation working under the aegis of International Hapkido Federation. Novosibirsk Hapkido regional federation is supervised by south Korean master Li Hak Su, 6 Dan IHF.
